Two leaders of Pathargadhi movement held

Two leaders associated with the Pathargarhi movement at Bachnao in Narayanpur village coming under Baghicha police station jurisdiction of Jashpur were arrested on Monday.

After being produced in court, they were sent for judicial remand till May 14.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bagicha, Padmashree Tanwar informed The Pioneer that the Pathargarhi leaders who are retired officials, Joseph Tigga and Hormen Tinod were allegedly involved in the Pathargarhi incident in Bachnao village held on April 22, 2018.

After a written complaint was filed, police registered a case against them under sections 149, 153 (b), 505 (1) (c), 120 (b) of Indian Penal Code, he said.

Both of them were on Monday arrested by the police and were produced before the district court. The court has sent them on judicial remand till May 14, the official informed.
