State students shine in ICSE, ISC board examinations

Thousands of students who took ICSE, ISC board examinations --2018 from Jharkhand came out with flying colours after the declaration of the results on Monday. The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) declared results of both class 10 and standard 12 results simultaneously on Monday afternoon.

Among all the districts of Jharkhand, students of Jamshedpur registered their names in national toppers list. Bringing laurel to the State by scribbling an inspirational success story, a student of Jamshedpur, Abhishek Agarwal was crowned second national topper in the class 12, ISC examination conducted by the Council in February 2018. Abhishek, a student of loyola School topped the city as well as the country by scoring a whopping 99.25% marks in the class 12 ISC examination in Commerce stream. Similarly, in ISC Science stream, Radhika Patwari of Narbheram Hansraj English School was crowned city topper with 98.75%.

According to Abhishek Agarwal, son of businessman Deepak Agarwal to achieve great heights in life is to fall in love with one’s work. By securing 99.25% marks in the ISC examination (commerce stream), Abhishek has converted the proverb into reality. 

“To be honest I was expecting about 96- 97% but never in my wildest dream ever thought that I will be one of the national toppers. I am happy with my performance. Regardless of which ever field I take up as a career, my motto would be to ensure development of India. I am looking forward to make a career in the field of economics and looking forward to do my graduation from Sri Ram College of Commerce,” said Abhishek, who owes his success to his parents and teachers.

The steel city that boosts a good number of ICSE schools, the performance of class 10 students in board examination is also worth commendable. Priya Kumari of Hill Top School and Swarup Padhi of Kerala Samajam Model School were jointly crowned as the third National toppers with 99Rs % marks. The toppers of the city who have made their respective schools and families proud with their performance are looking forward to excel in their professional life too.

ICSE School Heads of Jamshedpur expressed their satisfaction over the outcome of the results. “Our students have shown their mettle in the academic fields. We wish them all the best for their future,” said Father Pius Fernandes, Principal, loyola School.

From State Capital, Aditya Raj of St. Francis School stole the show as he became the State topper by scoring 98.4% in class 10 exam. Shreya Mukherjee of loreto Convent scored 97.80% clinching second position in Ranchi whereas Soham Sen of St. Xavier’s School, Ranchi got the third spot in the State capital. Sen secured 97.60%.

Students of St. Xavier’s School, Ranchi in ISC exam registered their commendable success in both Science and Commerce streams. Meanwhile, Anushree of loreto Convent, Ranchi topped in the Capital City in Humanities stream scoring 93%.

At the same time, students of all ICSE schools across Bokaro and Dhanbad districts registered cent percent success. The students of two schools conducting ICSE courses in Bokaro district— St. Xavier School Bokaro Steel City and De Nobli School in Chandrapura yet again proved their mettle. With 98.2% marks in Class 10, Vansika Sinha (16) a student of St. Xavier School Bokaro topped in the district.

“I never expected this, one of my friends called me and then I realised that I had topped in the district with good marks,” said Vansika. “The success is incredible. All my relatives and friends were elated. Nobody had expected that I would reach the pinnacle”, she added. Vansika wants to become an engineer. “My focus is on engineering stream. I am yet to decide which one wings of engineering I will select, though I have kept all options open,” she added.

The other students of St. Xavier School Bokaro, Acaantha Anil scored 97.4% marks followed by Tarun Verma 96.2% and Shreey Raj scored 95.6% marks. The student of De Nobili School Chandrapura, Sanskar Mahato scored 95.4%, Sherya got 94.2% while Sanny Aryan got 94 percent marks in class 10 examination.

In Class 12 Science examination girls outshined boys; Satyam student of St. Xavier School Bokaro topped in the district scoring 97.75% marks followed by Pragya 94%, Ananya Singh got 93.75%, Prateek Khakho 92.75 and Pratyush got 91% marks.

While in Commerce stream, Govind got 94.75% followed by Aishwarya 91.75 Jaya Kumari 91% Sharvani 90 and Sonalisha scored 89.75 % marks. The principal Father Saju Bastian SJ congratulated the students and wished them all success in future.
