Panchayat secretary to get pay scale of 5200-20200: CM

Chief Minister Raman Singh announced a major favour to the Panchayat secretaries on occasion of ‘Hareli’ folk festival of Chhattisgarh. He announced that those having completed 10 years of service would now instead of Rs 2400 pay scale get Rs 5200-20200. Earlier, he had announced similar hike for those having completed 15 years of service.

Chief Minister Raman Singh was participating in the State wide convention of Village Panchayat secretary organised at Rajnandgaon on Saturday.

One of the representatives of Panchayat Secretary during the address had stated that CM would fulfil their demand of wages.

Panchayat and rural development minister Ajay Chandrakar gave consent to the demand and said that he hopes that Chief Minister would on occasion of folk festival will give them a big gift.

Chief Minister as chief guest said that state government makes policies and schemes at secretariat but implementing it at the ground is done by the Panchayat secretary. Development of villages is priority of government. They play a key role. Recalling year 2006 at Janjgir, he said he sees same energy even today at Rajnandgaon.

Panchayat minister said that state government under Chief Minister had provided what is required for the villages in open hand from sports ground to road to community buildings.

After the announcement, Panchayat Secretaries welcomed the announcement and felicitated him. Rajnandgaon lok Sabha member Abhishek Singh proposed vote of thanks.
