Monsoon to arrive in capital; heavy rain predicted in 4 dists

Monsoon which arrived in Indore division on Sunday is likely to reach the state capital in the next 2-3 days, warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for four districts by Met department.

After the long break of several days witnessed in the state capital rainfall is yet to provide relief from the humid weather conditions prevalent for the past two weeks.

Met department predicted that if the conditions remained favourable monsoon is likely to hit the state capital by June 27-28.

Cloudy weather conditions with dusty winds have been witnessed for the past 5-6 days and which was accompanied by little rainfall in the state capital.

The state capital recorded day temperature at 35.5 degree Celsius and night temperature at 25.9 degree Celsius.

In the past 24 hours rainfall has been witnessed at several places in the state and forecast of good and heavy rainfall at several places have been made.

Several places in Ujjain and Indore divisions, Rajgarh, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Sehore and Shivpuri while few places in Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions, Sidhi, Singrauli, Bhopal, Raisen, Damoh and Sagar districts are are likely to receive rainfall in the next 24 hours.

Gadhakota recorded highest rainfall at 7 cm in the past 24 hours, Maihar, Sonkutch and Jawra recorded 3 cm, Burhanpur, lateri, Neemuch and Sironj recorded 2 cm of rainfall.

Khajuraho recorded the highest day temperature at 43.6 degree Celsius on Monday. Few regions are still recording night temperatures at higher levels. Datia recorded 30.6 degree Celsius, Gwalior recorded 29.6 degree Celsius, Sehore recorded 29.4 degree Celsius.
