Congress members created ruckus in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday over what they termed as alleged mismanagement of Maharani District Hospital at Jagdalpur in Bastar district headquarters.
Congress member lakheshwar Baghel raised the issue in the House during question hour in which he alleged that even though the District Hospital at Jagdalpur was of significance for treatment of critically injured troopers in Maoist attacks, the State government was not giving proper attention to it.
He alleged that for a very long time a CT Scan machine had not been functioning in the hospital.
Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar while admitting that the machine was not operational since February 2015 stated that the government had tied up w
ith private BSR Hospital where the patients are being sent for the CT scans.
The government pays Rs 1050 per CT Scan to the hospital, he informed.
The delay in purchasing a new CT scan machine was due to non-participation by the bidders in tender process, Chandrakar said.
He also assured that a new machine would be installed in the hospital soon.
