The speedy footwork and matching them up with the instrumental music was all about the splendid performance by Kathak dancers. The artists showcased the origin of kathak in an event ‘Katharambh- story of Kathak’. The programme was held at Ravindra Bhavan here on Sunday.
Notably, the artists gave a wondrous performance leaving the audience totally enthralled. The event was organized by Samarpan Institute of Dance. Based on the poems and lyrical music the artists performed the traditional Kathak dance.
The artists performed Shiv Tandava and Chakradhar, Paran, Rela. With presenting all in pure style they mesmerized the audience. She also added the style of her dance which was a sheer delight for the audience watching them live on stage.
Stories of Lord Krishna, Makhan Chori, and his role in Mahabharata spellbound the audience much.
Thumri was presented at the end.
Rhythmic understanding, ability to extemporize with speedy rhythms and preserving pure Kathak classical style are some of dancer’s qualities. Experimenting with classical Kathak, the artists evolved a refined, sophisticated style in pure classical form, based on fast speeds, swift turns, mind thrilling footwork, delicacy of movements and impressive expressions on stage.
The artists gave various heart melting performances which were much appreciated. Here on Sunday, the artists grabbed much attention of teh audience. It was a delightful performance for the classical dance enthusiasts.
