College girl commits suicide in Jajpur

Jajpur : An 18-year-old student of a private college allegedly hanged herself  at her hostel room at Chhatia under the Bairi police station on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Sushree Sahani of village Ichhapur.  Police filed an unnatural death case and sent the body to the Government hospital at Jajpur for  autopsy. “We are questioning the parents and other family members and friends of the deceased about the incident,” said Bair police station IIC Niranjan Sabar.

Repair of Purbakote-Khajurinalua road demanded

Jajpur Road: The 14-km Purbakote-Khajurinalua road under the Panikoili R and B Sub-Division here is in a bad condition since a year due to lack of maintenance by the R and B department. People of Gourpur, Barundei, Ranapur, Kantore and Purbakote GPs have been facing problems while commuting through it. Though the authorities have been repeatedly approached demanding repair and widening of the road but they have turned deaf ear towards it. Locals and former ZP candidate Rama Chandra Barik have demanded immediate repairing and widening of the road.

Hyderabad cops nab 2 looters

Baleswar: The Hyderabad Airport police with the help of their Baleswar counterparts arrested two persons from the Basta area following raids in connection with a robbery of about Rs 5 lakh from a real estate company office at Hyderabad. The arrested were identified as Goutam Jena of Podopada village and Om Prakash Aich of Sanakhundi village. The two were engaged as security guards in the company along with four others.

Utkal Alumina holds blood donation camp

Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Alumina CSR department organised a mega blood donation camp in its CSR campus on Thursday. Utkal Alumina unit head and president

N Nagesh inaugurated the camp in presence of Utkalina Club president N Laxmi. As many as 153 units of blood were collected. Company Admin AVP Rakesh Mishra thanked the District Headquarters Hospital Blood Bank team for their support. Among others, HR and IR AVP TM Prakash, Process VP RN Mishra, Dr Rajendra Mandal, Debakant Pradhan, GajendraNaik and CSR head Siba Sankar Mahapatra were present.

Adani Foundation holds health camp

Dhamra: The Adani Foundation in association with Rotary Charitable Cancer Trust and Apollo Hospital organised a mega health camp Karanpalli panchayat in Bhadrak district recently. Apollo Hospital chief executive officer Sudhir M Digikar inaugurated the camp. Many expert doctors and specialists examined more than 2,000 villagers on different ailments.
