Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Sunday said the son of former Chief Minister Ch. Bhajan lal, has tarnished the image of his father.
Without naming Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi, Manohar lal said he (Kuldeep Bishnoi) never behaved like the son of his father.
Interacting with the inhabitants of Siswal village in Hisar district, the Chief Minister said, he did not deserve credit for the good deeds done by his family because he had not been loyal to his father. How he can be loyal to anyone elseIJ
Manohar lal said his father, Bhajan lal, commanded respect because he ruled the state with good intentions. Bhajan lal used to remain concerned about everybody’s well being and visited people in all areas of the state, said he.
“Prior to one of the Vidhan Sabha elections, he (Kuldeep Bishnoi) was told that we would contest elections together. Then there was the issue who would be the Chief Minister (CM). It was suggested by us that any person who is experienced would be made Chief Minister.
We had, therefore, offered the office of CM to Bhajan lal”, the Chief Minister said
On this, the son of Bhajan lal said he (Kuldeep Bishnoi) did not follow his father, and that, he would contest the elections with us only if he was made CM. There are sons like father, but he is not the one. Had he been a good son, he would have said that Bhajan lal would be made Chief Minister, and the next elections would be contested together. He did not agree to it and everybody knows what happened, the Chief Minister remarked.
Continuing his tirade, Manohar lal said he (Kuldeep Bishnoi) never raised any issue pertaining to his constituency in the Assembly. Whenever he went to attend the session, he simply marked his attendance and came back. He has not attended even 20 per cent of the Assembly meetings, he added.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister listed various achievements of the State Government.
In 2014 general elections, the BJP had contested eight seats out of 10 and left Hisar and Sirsa to its alliance partner at that time, Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) of former CM Bhajan lal’s son Kuldeep Bishnoi.
While the HJC lost both seats to the INlD, the BJP won seven seats, losing the Rohtak seat to Deepender Hooda of the Congress. later, the alliance partners had parted ways.
