Finally, a charge-sheet was filed in connection with the Chicken Rabi murder case at Additional District Judge-I Rekha Prasad’s court here on Sunday.
While the charge-sheet was filed after eight years of killing of Chicken Ravbu at lanjipalli Deepa Sahi on January 1, 2010, as many as nine accused, including former Sanakhemundi MlA Ramesh Jena, Susanta Bisoyi, Subash Dash, Echili Panigrahi and Prafull Panigrahi, were produced in the court.
Jena was taken from Chhatrapur sub-jail to the court. They have been booked under Sections 302 and 307 of the IPC and 25 of the Arms Act. As another accused, Sankar Sahu, was absent, the court issued a warrant against him while putting up the date of hearing for April 19 and 20.
Filing of charge-sheet was delayed as it took many years to prove Shiba Bisoyi, an accused in the case, as a minor. After Shiba was declared a minor by the Supreme Court, he was sent to a juvenile court.
Senior lawyers Kishore Bisoyi and Nirmal Sahu conducted the case on Behalf of Jena.
