The protests and demonstration against the official candidates announced by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Assembly polls is continuing in the State. On Wednesday, party activities led by BJP leaders arrived at 'Ekatma Parisar', BJP’s Divisional Office and staged protest outside the gate. A group of party activists including the leaders had arrived from Bilaspur during afternoon hours and staged demonstration before the gate of 'Ekatma Parisar'.
They were raising the slogans that candidature of Amar Agrawal should be withdrawn and instead Dr M Rai should be given the party ticket.
The protestors said that they would not go against the BJP but they are demanding to change of the candidate. Dr Rai is an active RSS member and also doctor working with Arogya Bharati, a RSS wing.
One of the interesting fact is that one of the Town Inspector deputed at BJP office, started questioning the BJP activists staging protest, and sought permission details for organizing it. One of the protestors showed him the letter on which he withdrew but again came and warned them that Section 144 has been imposed. If they continue, they would be taken in custody. Slowly, the protestors withdrew after an hour.
