The report card on performance of Members of Parliament (MPs) released by the Youth for Social Development (YSD) here on June 12, has put the performance of Cuttack MP Bhartuhari Mahtab’s at top rank with a score of 54.9 and Rama Chandra Hansdah, Mayurbhanj MP at the bottom with 18.3 score among 21 MPs in Odisha.
However, it has put the performance of Balangir MP Kalikesh Singh Deo as “average.”
According to the report, the overall performance rank of Singh Deo is 14/21 and performance score is 40.6.According to the survey, only three MPs of Odisha Mahatab, Dr Kulamani Samal (Jagatsinghpur MP) with second rank and Rabindra Kumar Jena, Baleswar with third rank are able to cross 50 score in overall performance out of total 100 and rest of the MPs barring a few have scored above 40 with performance shown as average.
According to the report, Singh Deo has attended 221 days (74.7) per cent in Parliament, participated in debate for 22 times, asked 400 questions, introduced four private members Bill and adopted two villages under Sansad Adarsh Yojana. And out of the Rs17.65 crore released funds under MPlAD schemes, (72.66 per cent) a total of Rs2.72crore has been utilised.
