A few days ahead of the Investors Summit slated to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has inaugurated ‘Atal Setu’ (flyover) at Mokhampur on Friday. The 1050 meter-long and 18.80 meter-wide road over bridge (ROB) has been completed two months ahead of the stipulated time of completion. Notably, CM Rawat had instructed the working agency concerned to complete the flyover on time, keeping in view the public convenience.
The bridge was estimated to cost Rs 60 crore, but it has been constructed at a cost of Rs 43 crore. The bridge has been named ‘Atal Setu’ after the former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee.
Speaking on the occasion, CM said that many extensions have been given during the construction of Ballupur and Balliwala flyovers and their width has been reduced. He further announced that the work on Jogiwala flyover would start soon and added that the temple affected by the construction of the flyover would be reconstructed.
He reminded that the officials have been instructed to complete the repair/ reconstruction of the roads across the state in a month.
CM said that a 300 bed hospital for women and the newborn would come up at Harrawala soon. He further said that the new Dat Kali tunnel would be inaugurated on Saturday, adding that it has been completed three months ahead of the stipulated time.
Prem Chand Aggarwal, the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, said that the general people would be relieved of the daily traffic congestion they faced following the inauguration of the bridge. He thanked the CM for ensuring that the bridge has been completed before the stipulated time.
