3-day Mayur Utsav-2018 from Dec 14 to entertain Delhiites

The Delhi Government would organise a three-day cultural festival ‘Mayur Utsav-2018’ from 14 to 16 December at different venues in Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Phase II & Phase III in East Delhi.  

Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, said the ‘Sahitya Kala Parisad’  a cultural wing of the Government will organise this festival which is  the part of Government’s efforts to decentralise the cultural landscape and take cultural initiatives to different parts of the city. 

“I am delighted to announce the first edition of Mayur Utsav. Considering large number of art and music lovers resides in East Delhi, it was my dream to have our own cultural festival in the area,” Sisodia said.

The aim of the festival is to create platforms in different parts of Delhi that would provide an opportunity to common people to witness eminent artists and various genres of arts. This will be the first time a programme of this scale would be held in East Delhi, he said.

Giving details of the function, Sisodia said the audience would witness the extravaganza with the performance of the India’s leading fusion band Indian Ocean on Friday. While on Saturday, a hasya kavi sammelan would be organised in which an eminent poets like Shyam Rangeela who is one of the most popular comedians in India would be participated. This will be followed by a folk performance by the Delhi Panchavadya Trust, he said.

He informed that there will be grand event as high energy performance by the Indian film music composer and pop - rock based singer - Kailash Kher. “The next in line will be a folk dance by Suresh Vyas & Group. The evening will come to an end with Puran Bhatt’s puppet show, he informed.
