1 in Gzb cops' net for loot bid, other escapes

The Ghaziabad police  arrested a criminal after he tried to loot a person in lohia Nagar under Sihani Gate police station area. The incident occurred at 2 am on Wednesday  in Ghaziabad. 

Akash Tomar, SP, said that two criminals on a scooter tried to loot a person in Vijay Nagar area. 

The victim called the police  control room. In the meantime the patrolling police of Sihani Gate noticed two persons  driving a scooter rashly.  The alert police gave a signal to stop them. One of them opened fire at the police team and tried to flee but police also fired in retaliation .

However, in the exchange  firing a constable Irshad sustained a bullet injury in his arm. One of the criminals also sustained a bullet injury in his leg due to which he lost control of scooter and police team succeeded to nab him, but  taking advantage of darkness his accomplice succeeded to flee. 

The injured criminal and the constable were rushed to a nearby local Nagar Hospital where they were admitted for treatment.  The criminals were identified Mursaleem alias Murli son of Akhtar a resident of Farukh Nagar. 

He was an active member of D-50 gang registered in loni police station.  During screening of his past, he was found involved over a dozen criminal cases. 

He was involved in loot in a factory in Greater Noida where the guard of the factory shot dead a criminal. 

"The Sihani Gate police have done a commendable job, we are trying to nab the other one who slipped from the police clutches" said SP City.
