CRPF Director General K Durga retires

K Durga Prasad, Director General ,CRPF has proceeded on retirement after putting in service which extended for nearly 36 years. A 1981 batch IPS officer, K Durga Prasad, headed the force as DG for a year from March 1, 2016 till Feb 28, 2017 and further raised the glory of this force with his vision.

It was during his period that CRPF achieved new heights in the field of technological supremacy predominantly related to induction of special equipments, arms and other navigational gadgets. The force during his leadership has fared well in the overall scheme of things and more specifically in battling it out with the maoists guerilla in the lWE theatre, where CRPF is the lead force in action. Sudeep lakhtakia, IPS officer of 1984 batch, Telangana cadre, currently posted as Additional DG, CRPF, will hold the additional charge of the post of DG,CRPF w.e.f 01/03/2017 till the appointment and joining of a regular successor.
