State targets export worth Rs 1l cr by 2025

An exporters’ meet on ‘Export Finance’ was jointly organised by the Directorate of Export Promotion and Marketing, Odisha, and the State Bank of India supported by the FIEO, Odisha Chapter, here on Thursday.

Additional Chief Secretary, MSME Department lN Gupta inaugurating the event said export turnover target for the State has been fixed at Rs 1 lakh crore by 2025. He emphasised on opening of nodal SBI branches as single-point contact for the exporters.  He declared that the proposed Raptani Bhawan would be opened by August-end.

EP and M Director RR Das informed that the State’s export turnover stood at Rs 40,872 crore in 2016-17, registering an increase of 114 per cent over the preceding year. He assured that the exporting community would benefit a lot from the new Export Policy of Odisha.

SBI, Bhubaneswar circle CGM BVG Reddy called upon the exporting community to take the advantage of export credit facility of the SBI. He also declared that two nodal branches would be opened, one each at main branch at Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, to meet the day-to-day queries of the exporters of Odisha.  Two Nodal Officers would be available for this purpose, he said.

Industries Director N Sahu explained various incentives provided to the entrepreneurs engaged in the manufacturing sector.

SBI Corporate Centre, Mumbai DGM Umashankar gave a presentation on the export finance scenario and explained various steps to be taken by the exporters.
