State-level medical board convened at CMO office to check veracity of claims by transferred doctors

To check the veracity of the claim of illness put forward by some transferred doctors a state level medical board was convened at the office of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dehradun on Thursday. On the insistence of the state administration, the state health department has set up a medical board comprising of the specialists to look into the claims of illness submitted by the some doctors. large numbers of doctors were transferred in the recent transfers and some doctors on medical grounds had requested that their transfers should be cancelled.

 The CMO of Dehradun Dr T C Pant said that 10 doctors appeared before the board on the day. He however refused to divulge the details of the findings of the board  on the health conditions of these doctors. In the recent transfers the state administration had shifted 241 doctors of state health services. In an effort to strengthen medical services in the mountainous areas as many as 171 doctors were shifted to the hospitals located in these areas.
