Even after a week of alleged abduction of the three youths of Chutia who went traceless while on their way to Dasham Falls on Tuesday last, Police remain clueless without having any information about them.
The high profile alleged abduction case had rocked the State Capital after abductors allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 20 crore for releasing three youths – Shivam Singh, Gaurav Singh and Shanky Singh.
“There is no update in the case; we are trying our level best to find them out,” said officer in-charge of Nagri police station, who was reluctant to talk on the issue. Raids were being conducted regularly on daily basis but no breakthrough has been achieved so far, he added.
Chutia Police also expressed its inability to say anything in this regard as the case has been registered at Nagri police station.
Rural SP Rajkumar lakra, heading the special investigation team formed by SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi, said that all aspects were being kept into consideration during the investigation which may take some time.
“We are working on it and raids are being conducted at various locations to trace them out,” said the SP. He, however, refused to divulge further details in this regard.
BJP leader Madan Singh, father of Shivam, said that he had been waiting for the police to come up with results.
“We have also been trying to get their whereabouts from our relatives living in other districts but yet to hear any positive word from anywhere. Police has also not been able to get any clue about their whereabouts and have been saying that they have been working on it,” said Singh.
According to Singh, the three friends had had gone out saying that they were going to Dasham Falls for fun on Tuesday but said to have turned towards Ring road and did not return after that. He also said that he had received a call from an unidentified person from his son’s mobile number who said that all of them were safe following which it got disconnected.
Singh, however, denied to have received any ransom call in this regard. Sources, however, confirmed that the ransom of Rs 20 crore has been demanded by the abductors, who also warned that they will kill the three, if ransom money was not paid to them.
