Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said that the Centre has cleared the State Government's plan to construct a flyover at Ratu Road and promised to come again for 'bhumipujan' very soon.

Addressing a gathering at Harmu Maidan after inaugurating MODI fest here, Gadkari also announced that Waterways on Swarnarekha River will be started very soon which will further create avenues for jobs in the State.

The BJP is organizing MODI fest all over the country to mark three years in office by Narendra Modi Government at the Centre where the top leaders of the party have been counting achievements of the government in the last three years.

Gadkari further said that Rs 4,000 crore has also been given for completion of Ranchi-Jamshedpur Road which has to be completed by December this year.

Claiming that development of waterways on Ganga River will prove to be a growth engine of development in the State, the Union Minister further added that drilling work for 1680 km Varanasi-Haldia waterways project on Ganga River has been started for which contract of Rs 280 crore has already been awarded.

"2.25 metric tons could be transported after connecting it through National Highways and narrow lanes creating more than 1.5 lakh jobs through it," said Gadkari. 10,000 people will get jobs in the terminal itself, he added.

Promising to come again in October to convert Swarnarekha River into waterways, Gadkari said that iron slag presently lying idle in Jamshedpur could be transported to Bihar, UP or West Bengal through ships for using it to construct roads.

"I can give approval to any number of river port for Jharkhand as there is no dearth of money in the Government. It only requires right thinking, right Government and right leadership," said Gadkari.

Referring to the problem of irrigation in Jharkhand where only 5.6 per cent of the fields are irrigable, he announced that he was ready to provide funds if the State Government prepares itself for construction of   canals in the State under Prime Minister Krishi Sinchai Yojana.

Gadkari also promised that road projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore will be completed in Jharkhand by the time Narendra Modi Government completes five years in the office by 2019.

Talking about more than 100 schemes launched by the Modi Government, Gadkari said that the earlier governments made only announcements while this government has succeeded in putting the announcements made by it on the ground.

"We have succeeded in introducing ease of doing business to the country through Make in India, Made in India, making innovations utilizing science and technology and also gave priority to skill development in the country," said the Union Minister.  "Things which could not be done in 50 years were done in the last three years," he added.

"This is only a trailer while the real picture is still to come. There will be more developmental works in the next two years," he said.
