A surprise inspection was carried out by a group of officials led by divisional railway manager, MK Akhouri at Chanderpura-Ranchi road railway stations on Gomoh-Barkakana route on Tuesday. As perthe  information, all officials as well as the staff at the stations, were found to be monitoring the arrival.

Speaking to The Pioneer after reviewing the works and examining the facilitie,Akhouri said the works to improve the infrastructure and passenger amenities are progressing as per schedule. However, the pace of the work on double railway tracks on this route could be expedited, DRM said.

The DRM reprimanded his subordinates at Bokaro Thermal station for not maintaining sanitation and greenery at the station. Orders have been issued to remove encroachments and ensure basic amenities at all the railway stations” said the DRM

‘There is an urgent need to lay the double line from Chanderpura to Ranchi road, as this corridor is vital for the movement of goods trains as well as passenger trains. The railways have sufficient land to lay the double line. Those who have illegally encroached the railway land especially at Bokaro thermal will have to be evicted at the earliest,  he added 

Meanwhile, the local ZilaPparishad Bharat Yadav met the DRM and soughtmore time for relocating the 468 people of Birsa Nagar, Railway Colony, Raja Bazaar, six units and camp area, which has come under the railway land. The DRM assured him and gave more time up to February 28  for their rehabilitation since they have been occupying the land for more than five decades. Yadav also submitted a petition to the DRM for many seeking consideration . The DRM assured Yadav that he will take a decision in this regard.
