Opposition Congress seems to be stumbled upon Katni SP Gaurav Tiwari's transfer for cornering BJP Government which is already drawing severe flak on the issue.

legislators of Madhya Pradesh’s principal opposition Congress and hundreds of party workers courted arrest on Monday during a rail roko agitation amid protest-demonstration underway for a week against the transfer to Chhindwara of Superintendent of Police Gaurav Tiwari, after he commenced an investigation into a multi-crore hawala scam.

Senior legislator Sundarlal Tiwari and MlA Jitu Patwari were among the participants. United Opposition Forum led by Congress staged protests in Katni while Youth Congress president Kunal Chauhdhry and others stopped rail traffic at Mudwara railway station, on Katni outskirts.

Demands were heard from numerous forums for the resignation of Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Higher Education, Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Sanjay S Pathak in the wake of his name surfacing in the inconsistencies. However, his supporters were observed conducting a signature campaign in his favour here today.

“The regime is attempting to protect Pathak and other influential accused,” Patwari told media prior to being apprehended.

Meanwhile, police personnel had tough time at Mudwara railway station where Youth Congress President Kunal Chaudhary stopped train passing from there. Congress leaders in other parts of the State, too are busy cursing the Government for SP’s transfer who has already joined in his new posting at Chhindwara.

On Sunday, hundreds of kids carrying placards supporting with slogans in ousted SP’s favour, had taken to streets in Katni. Police and administrative officers had persuaded kids to go back to their homes.

Meanwhile, in an interesting turn of events, people apparently supporting the minister Pathak too have come up with posters in his support on social media and in the town as well.
