Wednesday, 06 September 2017 | PNS | Jamshedpur

In view of the second groundbreaking ceremony of MoUs in the steel city under Momentum Jharkhand, the Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (Aiada) has chalked out plans to provide land to industries at Baharagora in East Singhbhum and Dugni in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, located around 25km from Jamshedpur. The authority has plans to allot 25 plots of different sizes, ranging from 0.50 acres to 35.48 acres, in both the places.

An AIADA official said that land crunch in the State’s largest industry hubis posing a major hurdle for the industrial growth. However, in order to meet the land crunch, the AIADA has set the ball rolling to acquire land at Seraikela and Bahragora to pave way for setting up new industries.

“AIADA will offer 14 plots in Dugni, around 20km from the industrial zone. The plots, which will range between 0.50 acres and 1.83 acres, will cost around Rs 16.95 lakh per acre," he said.

Authority secretary Hari Kumar Keshri said they are laying emphasis on improving road connectivity at Dugni and Baharagora. The plots, having a total area of 158.20 acres will be a boon for existing units at Adityapur that want to go for an expansion.

The hazardous waste management plant, an important component of Adityapur Auto Cluster limited, is also coming up at Dugni. Chief minister Raghubar Das laid the foundation stone of the project during the second groundbreaking ceremony held in Bistupur, on August 19.

An official said that the authority will work to ensure that the investors are given all the facilities hassle-free and under one roof so that the industrialists can move ahead with their projects.

The Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority of the total 2,923 acre is now looking forward to for its expansion, around 2,076 acres comprising six villages falls in nearby Gamharia while another 226 acres is located a little further away at Seraikela, another piece of around 621 acres of land is at Bahragora adjacent to East Singhbhum.

Meanwhile, S N Thakur, a senior functionary, Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA) said that about 150-200 projects cleared by AIADA are waiting for allotment of land.  On the other hand the availability of plot is practically very less. Steps should be taken to increase availability of land to the industrialists.

Notably, the sprawling Adityapur Industrial Area houses 1200 units- including 11 large-scale, 64 small scale and 166 tiny industries. A few important industries that haveglobal presence are Usha Martin Group, RSB Group, Tata Steel Growth Shop (TGS) etc., too situated in this industrial belt, situated in Seraikela-Kharsawan. There are 20 industries, which export its products to the USA, Australia and other European countries.
