To protest against the transfer of Katni SP Gourav Tiwari, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) conducted protests across the State.
The AAP staged protest at the Subash Nagar Square of the city on Tuesday. Activists raised slogans against the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Sanjay Pathak during the protest.
While addressing the gathering, AAP’s state convener Alok Agrawal said that SP Gourav Tiwari has revived the faith of the people on police by exposing the hawala business of Rs 500 crore. The state government has deceived the honest officer by transferring him. The state government protects the dishonest people. The state government has lost the faith of the people by this action.
Agrawal further said that the name of the state minister Sanjay Pathak is continuously floating in this case. Around 2 of the 42 companies which are under the probe are registered in the name of Sanjay Pathak’s mother Nirmala Pathak and his wife Nidhi Pathak.
Katni SP was transferred as the name of the minister floated.
Agrawal stated that the party demands that the government should suspend the transfer order of SP while the state minister Sanjay Pathak should be sacked. Investigation should be done over the role of Pathak in the hawala case. Proper security should be provided to the family of the SP Gourav Tiwari so that no one could pressurize him.
Agrawal also met the DGP Rishi Shukla and discussed the issue.
