IEDs, can bomb recovered from Gumla

Choppers continued hovering over jungles of Maoist infested areas of Gumla district on the second consecutive day after top CPI (Maoist) leaders Nakul Yadav and Madan Yadav alongwith five other accomplices said to have surrendered before forces on Wednesday.

Maj Gen Shammi Sabharwal AT SST

Major General Shammi Sabharwal, ADG, NCC DTE Bihar & Jharkhand, Patna visited Sainik School Tilaiya and inspected the Indep Coy , NCC wing of the school. Officiating Principal, Sainik School Tilaiya, lt Col AK Rajak, SM and Vice Principal Sqn ldr Sanjay Kumar welcomed the Chief guest and other dignitaries including Brig Shankar Prasad, Gp Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Ranchi; Brig Advitya Madan, Gp Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Hazaribagh and lt Commander Zoheb A Sheikh. The General Officer  in his address motivated the Cadets to have a positive and determined approach in life to succeed.

1,000 lecturers to be appointed in State

Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma today stressed on increasing admission ratio in the State issuing instruction to start second shift teaching using already existing buildings of colleges. While holding a review meeting of the Higher and Technical Education department the CS said that teachers should be appointed on contract against the created posts. At least 5,000 seats should be increased in polytechnic colleges and 75,000 new admissions should be targeted in the new session, she added. Process to appoint 1000 professors and lecturers on contract has been started.

ABVP observes Ambedkar Jayanti

Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Doranda College wing observed Ambedkar Jayanti on Thursday, which is observed on birthday of Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar. Dignitaries present on the occasion said that thoughts and life of Ambedkar would remain source of inspiration for millions.

TWS organises farewell party

A graduation ceremony and farewell party was organized at Taurian World School (TWS) to bid adieu to the outgoing students of Grade XII (batch of 2016-17). The evening was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. The theme of the valedictory party was 'Au Revoir', a French word, meaning "Goodbye until we meet again". The amphitheatre was festooned with bright and dazzling lights.

DPS pays homage martyrs

DPS, Ranchi marked the 98th anniversary of the tragedy of Jalianwala Bagh Massacre as a tribute to the martyrs. It also celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti with great enthusiasm in order to commemorate 126th birth anniversary of the architect of Indian Constitution, Bharat Ratn Dr BR Ambedkar. Students of Class V performed plethora of activities on the occasion. The festivity started with a dance drama on the tune of ‘Jai Jai Bheem’. The children depicted the flight of untouchables through a short skit ‘Mera Desh Badal Raha Hai’. It was further followed by songs, life history and a street play to spread awareness and stressed on the importance of duties along with the rights.

Bal Sansad formed at OPS

Oxford Public School today organized investiture ceremony of the Bal Sansad formed at the school. Principal of the school Sooraj Sharma administered oath to the elected students of Bal Sansad, after which the students performed a march past on the tune of band.  Principal Sooraj Sharma and the Vice principal  AK Singh addressed the students and encouraged them for taking part in co-curricular activities.

The delicacies will include Mutton Bhatinda,  Chicken Sarson WaliTikki, Saag Tadkewala , Paneer Takatak, Makkiki Roti, PindiChana, Amritsari Pulao, Kulcha, lalamushadal, Gurkakheer, kalajamun, pyaz mirch ka parantha etc.
