Indian boy dies after falling into manhole in Qatar

A six-year-old Indian boy has died after falling into an uncovered manhole in Al Wukair settlement of Qatar.

The victim was identified as Izan Ahmed Basheer and his family hails from Koduvally in Kerala's Kozhikode district. The incident happened on Saturday night near the city of Al Wakrah, the Gulf Times reported on Sunday.

Izan had reportedly gone to dine with his parents at a restaurant but went missing after the family finished their meals.

Thereafter, a search was launched for the boy by relatives, friends and community members. A complaint was also registered with the police. 

His body was later found inside a manhole in the vicinity of the restaurant.
