Subrata Roy Sahara’s mother Chhabi Roy (95) passed away in the wee hours of Friday after prolonged illness. A source said that the cremation would be performed at Bhaisakund on Saturday morning.
Subrata Roy, would be attending the cremation, after he was given four weeks parole by the Supreme Court on Fridayfternoon.
The statement released by Sahara said: "With deep pain and anguish, we are to inform that mother of 'Saharasri' Subrata Roy Sahara and the guiding light of our Sahara India Pariwar, Smt. Chhabi Roy, departed for her heavenly abode today May 6, 2016 at 1:34 a.m. in the night.
"She had been critically ailing for the last two years and was at a makeshift hospital at Sahara Shahar, lucknow," the statement said
Chhabi Roy wife of late Shri Sudhir Chandra Roy was 95 year old. She was born on January 15 in Araria district of Bihar.
Subrata Roy has been in Tihar Jail for more than two years in relation with a long standing dispute with market regulator SEBI.
