7 BSP school students excel in TQT 2016

Tuesday, 29 March 2016 | Staff Reporter | Bhilai

Seven students of Bhilai Ispat Vikas Vidyalaya, Sector-6 run by the Education Department of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) have beaten odds to qualify for admission as non-BSP wards in Class-9 of Senior Secondary School in Sector-10 here.

This is the best ever performance by students of BIVV, Sector-6 in TQT test as in the years 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively one student had qualified for admission in the much sought after BSP Model School in Sector-10, a BSP press release informed.

Nidhi Tiwari secured 7th position in the overall merit list whereas Naseem and Sanjana Shende respectively secured 19th and 27th ranks.

Mukul Kurwe, Deepshikha Prasad, Rajiv Sao and Renuka Chakradhari respectively secured 33rd, 56th and 62nd ranks.

Their achievement is heart-warming and against the odds. All these meritorious students hail from BPl families. Their guardians are mostly poorly educated and are generally daily wage earners.

Being economically weak, they cannot afford tuition and entirely rely on the daily classes and teacher’s support at school. BIVV is a unique CSR initiative of Bhilai Steel Plant that offers quality education to the wards of economically deprived sections of society free-of-cost and allows them live out their dreams.

This achievement has been made possible due to hard-work put in by the seven and the support, guidance and inputs provided by the teachers of BIVV.
