30% Mandi Board earnings for Farmers' Welfare Fund

Thirty per cent of the annual earnings of the Chhattisgarh Mandi Board will be diverted to the Farmers' Welfare Fund.

The funds will be utilized for agriculture and farmers' development in the entire State. The crucial decision was taken at a meeting of the Mandi Board on Monday  at the Chhattisgarh Assembly premises, officials stated.

An amount of Rs 14 crore was allocated to the Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Agriculture Development Corporation for the fiscal 2016-17. There was a detail discussion regarding the paddy purchase of the Krushi Upaj Mandi Samitis.

Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal called upon the officers of the MARKFED and Mandi Board to prepare a joint team and submit a report on the infrastructure available at the market yards.

He directed the officers to strictly implement the decisions taken at the last meeting.

The Minister called upon them to deal issues relating to postings on compassionate grounds with extreme sensitivity. The daily wage workers who have completed 10 years of  duty should be dealth with as per the orders of the Supreme Court, he said.

The meeting had taken a decision to provide medical and financial assistance to the pensioners and their families with immediate effect. The meeting approved Rs Two crore to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel sugar factory Pandaria in district Kabhirdham for the fiscal 2015-16.

An amount of Rs 10 crore was approved for Gosewa Commission for ambulance service to animals . There was a detail discussion on developing new market premises at Bhatapara in Balodabazar- Bhatapara district soon.
