HARYANA DEPUTES 4 IAS Officers AS ASST COMMISSIONERS

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has posted four IAS officers (under training) as Assistant Commissioners with immediate effect. Mohd Imran Raza has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Sirsa, Prashant Panwar as Assistant Commissioner, Bhiwani, Preeti as Assistant Commissioner, Karnal and Uttam Singh has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Jind.

 

HARYANA cancels lICENCES OF 34 DEPOT HOlDERS

Chandigarh: Haryana Food and Supplies Minister, Karan Dev Kamboj said that licences of 34 depot holders have been cancelled for committing various irregularities during last three months. Also, security amounting to Rs 5.62 lakh of 119 depot holders has been forfeited. Kamboj said that under the Public Distribution System, every possible effort is being made to provide ration to consumers with ease. The State Government is planning a new arrangement under which people would get detailed information about ration on mobile.

 

HARYANA TO DISBURSE SAlARY ON APRIl 29

Chandigarh: Due to Gazetted holidays on April 30, May 1, October 1, November 1 and December 31, 2016, the Haryana Government has decided to disburse pay and allowances, pension and family pension to all the gazetted, non-gazetted Government employees and pensioners for the months of April, September, October and December on April 29, September 30, October 31 and December 30, 2016, respectively. A spokesman of Finance Department said that a circular to this effect has been sent to all Heads of Departments.

 

CME ON IRREVERSIBlE ElECTROPORATION IN PGIMER

Chandigarh: The Department of Radio diagnosis and Imaging, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh is organising the first CME and workshop on ‘Irreversible Electroporation’ from 29th-30th April, 2016. ‘Irreversible electroporation’ or ‘IRE’ or ‘Nanoknife’ is the most recent armamentarium that the department has acquired in the fight against cancer. This machine is the first of its kind in the entire country. In this treatment, multiple needles or probes are inserted into the tumor using image guidance. After this step, a very high voltage is applied between the probes. This opens up tiny holes or ‘nanopores’ in the wall of the tumor cells resulting in leaking of cell material and ultimately cell death. The advantage of this technique over other existing methods of cancer treatment is that it can even be used when the cancer is close to blood vessels or the biliary system or other vital structures.

 

CII MODEl CAREER CENTRE launched AT GURUGRAM

Chandigarh: Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister for labour & Employment (MolE), and Captain Abhimanyu, Minster for Finance, Industries, Commerce, labour & Employment, Government of Haryana, launched the CII Model Career Centre and Job Fair in Gurugram on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the National Career Service to provide a mechanism to link job seekers and job providers. Under this scheme, Union Ministry of labour & Employment have launched 100 Model Career centres with an increased focus on career counselling. Dattatreyat appreciated the Industry partnership in this unique model which will get end to end solutions to meet the aspirations and guide the youth of the country. He added that such centres need to be set up not only in urban areas but also in rural India that lack adequate counseling and guidance.

 

DATE FOR SElF FINANCING HOUSING SCHEME extended

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Housing Board has extended the last date for acceptance of application forms up to May 23 for the Two Bed Room Self Financing Housing Scheme Sector-51, Chandigarh and also authorised all the branches of the HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Axis Bank, Allahabad Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, IndusInd Bank for 100% financing of the Earnest Money for the scheme.

 

RAID IN GRAIN MARKET TO SEIZE POlYTHENE

Chandigarh: Bhupesh Chaudhary, SDM(East), along with a team of Sanitary Inspectors on Thursday conducted a raid in the Grain Market (mandi) of Sector–26, Chandigarh in the early morning at 6:30 am, and seized 60 kg polythene and issued 7 challans of Rs 5,000 and 25 challans of Rs 500.

 

TOll FREE helpline for DEFENCE personnel

Chandigarh: The Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Parimal Rai, on Thursday launched the Toll-Free Number 1800-180-2054, created by the Zila Sainik Welfare Board to redress the grievances of serving and retired soldiers from any part of the country, which relate to the Chandigarh Administration. Ajit Balaji Joshi, President, Zila Sainik Board said that the Toll-Free number has been launched to ease the process of grievance registration and redresses for ex-servicemen, serving soldiers and their widows/wards, so that they can call on this number and register their complaints pertaining to any department of the Chandigarh Administration. Once the complaint is made, a registration number would be given to each complainant for future reference and to know the status of their complaint.

 

FINlAND TUNNEllING MAJOR NORMET comes to C’garh

Chandigarh: Finland based tunnelling major – Normet, in order to place them strategically in Northern India opened their office in Zirakpur near Chandigarh on Thursday. Milon Mukhopadhayay, Managing Director, Normet (India) and lawerence Halls, Director Ground Engineering & Global Manager, Normet (UK) inaugurated the new office. Normet has underwent more than 30 projects of Underground Engineering for Indian Govt predominantly for Border Road Organisation (BRO), an Indian Army wing responsible for maintaining roads across the borderlines. It is rendering its services more than 50 years in the specialization of Mining, Tunnelling, Rock Enforcement, Construction Chemicals, Concrete Spraying, Ground Engineering and Underground Construction.

 

Asthma requires long term treatment

Chandigarh: Asthma is a chronic disease which requires long-term treatment. Many patients once they feel better stop using their inhalers. This can be dangerous since discontinuing treatment means stopping the very thing that is keeping them fit and healthy. Patients should consult their doctor on each and everything that stops them from not continuing inhalers rather than taking decision which can be dangerous.  “Need of the hour is to overcome barriers and taboos and understand the importance of inhalation therapy and adhere to it. To be a winner against asthma, an effective treatment i.e. inhalation therapy is required. The treatment is available in India at a price as low as Rs 4 to Rs 6 per day which means that a year’s supply of medicine is less than the cost of one night’s stay at the hospital. Dr. SK Jindal, Dr. Meenu Singh in Chandigarh and Dr. Arun Walia and Dr. Gurdev Chowdhury in Jalandhar discussed this in a Press Conference here on Thursday.

 

DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT JAIl CAUGHT ACCEPTING BRIBE

Chandigarh: Deputy Superintendent Jail, Phagwara was arrested on Thursday by the Vigilance Bureau while accepting Rs 4,000 as bribe from one Neelam Kaur in Phagwara . A spokesman said that Deputy Jail Superintendent Jaswinder Singh Sodhi asked for Rs 4,000 as bribe from Neelam Kaur for not letting her brothers Amritpal Singh and Gurjinder Singh, who were in police custody, shift from sub jail Phagwara to Kapurthala Jail. A trap was laid by the Vigilance Bureau where he was caught red handed while accepting bribe from Neelam Kaur. The bribe money was also recovered from the spot. A case has been registered under relevant sections in the Vigilance Bureau Jalandhar Range.
