Numerous summer camps of the city have become hot favorites of children during the ensuing summer vacations.
These camps are buzzing with activities nowadays as parents prefer to send their kids in these camps to keep them engaged during long vacations. These summer camps and hobby centres of the city are providing a platform for the children to enhance their skills and keep them engaged simultaneously as per the wishes of their parents.
The Etlantis club located in Panditwari area of the city organises summer camp every year which is one of the popular camp of the state capital. The Managing Director (MD) of the club Rohit Singh Rana told The Pioneer that the club organises music, dance, Yoga, cookery, Vedic mathematics, Chess and Table Tennis (TT) classes during the summer vacations.
“One of a unique feature of our camp is that the parents can also participate in the activity chosen by their wards. At the end of the camp we organise a night out at some scenic location which is a very good experience for both the children and their parents”, he informed.
Apart from the clubs many schools of the city are also offering lot of activities for the students during the vacations. The Principal of Doon Scotish Academy, Jaspreet Kaur said that the children thoroughly enjoy the activities and learn quickly whatever is taught to them.
In the camp of DAV school Dehradun the dance classes and roller skating sessions are favorite among the children. The head coach of Uttarakhand Roller Skating federation, Priyank Sharma who is teaching the skills of skating to the kids in DAV school said that skating involves complete exercise of all body parts. He said that a skater has enhanced body balancing skill which is stands in good stead for other fields too.
The summer camp at MKP inter college New Road is organizing cricket, badminton, karate, skating, art, craft and painting, western dance, guitar, spoken English and personality development classes in its summer camp. For shooting enthusiasts Doon institute of Shooting and sports is organising camps at its shooting range in Dalanwala, Touchwood School and GRD Academy.
