Sadar Hospital doctors' strike hits OPD services

Tuesday, 28 July 2015 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Health services in OPD in Sadar Hospital in Daltonganj was paralysed on Monday by the doctors and the staff. A doctor, in the hospital, was assaulted on Monday, forcing other doctors and staff members to take this step, said sources.

OPD patients returned home following this shut down on Monday. The rich consulted the doctors in private clinic.

Confirming the episode the civil surgeon Palamu KN Mishra said a patient and his attendant slapped the doctor Hari Om on duty at night which resulted in this lightning strike.

Sources said that doctor Hari Om went all out to help the patient but his attendants were impatient and wanted this doctor to spend night with their patient which the doctor refused saying he has to sit in duty in the hospital and not with any individual patient.

Incidents of roughing up of doctors and staff plague this hospital most said sources.

Attendants of patients charge the doctors with showing callousness and indifference to their patients while doctors and staff claim attendants want magic relief from doctors in shortest time which here in the limited infra structural facility is a remote thing
