Paras Jain launches M-Shiksha-Mitra mobile app

School Education Minister Paras Jain has called upon teachers to contribute their mite in building a golden Madhya Pradesh. He compared teacher to a lamp which gives lights to others by burning itself.

Paras Jain was addressing the 54th State level Teachers' Felicitation Function here today. Jain also launched M-Shiksha-Mitra mobile app to ensure teachers' attendance and give them other facilities.

Tribal Welfare Minister Gyan Singh, Minister of State for School Education Deepak Joshi, Chairman Board of Secondary Education Suranjana Ray, in-charge ACS School Education PC Meena, Commissioner Rajya Shiksha Kendra Deepti Goud Mukherjee, Commissioner Public Instructions DP Agrawal, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan's Additional Mission Director Sunita Tripathi and other officers were present on the occasion.

Paras Jain said that M-Shiksha-Mitra mobile app is free of cost. Teachers can avail a number of facilities through it. Congratulating teachers on behalf of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he said that the CM is concerned as how to enhance welfare and respect of teachers.

Referring to improvement of education quality, he said that as per the wish of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, separate toilets are being constructed in schools for girls and boys.

In deference of Chief Minister's wish, School Chalen Ham Abhiyan is conducted every year. Schools’ infrastructure is being improved through people's cooperation. Over 25,000 teachers have been promoted during recent years. Online and transparent posting of 799 teachers has been made. Jain urged teachers to improve teaching standards along with children's welfare wherever they are posted.

Jain gave away State level awards to 7 teachers and felicitated 13 President's Medallists of last year. Jain gave away Rs 25,000 each to state level awardees. He also felicitated 13 President's Medallists.

He gave away prize of Rs 25,000, letter of citation, shawl and coconut to winners of Teachers’ Symposium including Shalini Dube (Dhar) and RK Agnihotri (Sagar). Teacher Mohan Singh Ivne was also felicitated for tracing and handing over kidnapped child Nishant Jhope recently.

Gyan Singh said that importance of Guru has been described in India's ancient scriptures. For the first time in Madhya Pradesh, SC and ST students are being given opportunity to study aboard.

Students belonging to weaker sections are being coached to excel in IAS, IPS, PSC and other competitive exams. He urged teachers to further Guru-Shishya tradition.

Deepak Joshi said that only a teacher can give an engineer, doctor to society. He described teachers as carriers of social change saying that united efforts are needed to maintain importance and identity of teachers.

The Prime Minister and Chief Minister wish that glory and respect of teachers are re-established. PC Meena extended Teacher's Day greetings to teachers.

Informing about M-Shiksha-Mitra mobile app, DD Agrawal said that it is an extended version of Mobile Attendance Scheme started in Indore division, which has been launched in entire state now.

The mobile app has been developed by Sunil Jain of NIC and his team. Along with attendance, it is also of multi-utility for teachers. Through it, they can send SMS about their problem free of cost and status of its redressal.
