FIITJEE, premier institute for IIT-JEE training, will conduct a nation-wide examination on February 8 to select 40 underprivileged but meritorious students who will be groomed and tutored for free by the institution for entrance to India’s most reputed engineering colleges.
The “Fortunate 40” examination will be held across designated test centres in India for all students studying in class VIII and X, who aspire to make it to IIT-JEE in the year 2019 & 2017 respectively, but do not have the financial resources to afford an effective coaching institution.
The selected 40, who show potential for doing well in the field, will be taken under the wing of FIITJEE, an organisation which sends a large number of students to IITs and other prestigious engineering colleges of India every year.
While students from a cross section of society aspire to make it to the IITs, it is not an easy exercise. Having the intellectual capability and potential is not enough as cracking JEE also requires a rigorous training and guidance. Students from economically less fortunate backgrounds often fail to avail the benefits of such coaching programmes.
