Even though 10 acres of land for the proposed Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jajpur Road has been allotted and classrooms for temporary classes set, dilly-dallying attitude of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan authorities has irked people of Jajpur district.

The Centre has already given nod for establishment of a Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jajpur Road. Accordingly, the district administer has allotted 10 acres of land without premium in favour of the school.

Similarly, the NC High School at Jarupur Road has agreed to give 15 rooms for running of temporary classes of the proposed Central School.

The Tatal Steel has also consented to erect steel structured five rooms at the school for the purpose. But the Kendriya Sangthan authorities are yet to take initiative for starting classes, lamented locals, who recently staged a three-day dharna at the ADM office at Kalinganagar.

The locals too demand a Kendriya Vidyalaya at Kalinganagar.

What is more disappointing is that though the Vyasanagar Nagarika Committee members led by MP Rita Tarai and MlA Akash Dasnayak have met the Deputy Commissioner of the KV Sanghathan at Bhubaneswar several times over the demand, the latter is not paying any heed, said locals.

They lamented that the Deputy Commissioner behaves arrogantly stating that she has not even allowed setting up of a KV at Hinjlikatu, the Chief Minister’s constituency, because of want of infrastructure.

Meanwhile, people of Jajpur Road have written to Human Resources Development Minister Smruti Irani and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan seeking their early intervention into the matter.
