Bhopal’s model-turned actor Shawar Ali tied the nuptial knot with model Marsela Ayesha on Friday. The Fareb, Om Shanti Om actor had a private wedding ceremony in Mumbai where the nikah was solemnised with his girlfriend of two years, who is also a model. While talking to The Pioneer over his sudden marriage Shawar said, “Yes it’s a special day for me as Marsela and I are finally married.” Shawar further said, “Actually there has been a death in my family and so I am not keeping the celebrations too loud. I will have a marriage function in my native place Bhopal very soon besides I would also host a party in Mumbai where I will invite the industry people.”
In the close knit affair only Shawar’s close family members and friends were present. The model said that he would be hosting a grand bash soon.
The couple looked beautiful on the occasion with Shawar in a stylish black Kurta and Aisha in a cream and gold outfit. Meanwhile, the nikah ceremony was attended by his close friends including models Zulfi Sayed and Praveen Sirohi, designer Asif Shah, entrepreneur Wahid Ali Khan among others. Parents of the actor could not attend the marriage as his mother is ailing and father was looking after her, the actor said.
Shawar had started as a model. He made his film debut in the erotic film, Hawas, in 2004 with Meghna Naidu. He then went on to star in other Hindi as well as South Indian films. He played the bad guys in numerous films. His list of films includes Asambhav, Buddha Hoga Tera Baap, Ab Bas, Om Shanti Om, Fareb and several other films. He was also rated 93rd in the list of Top 100 Indian Handsome Men’s list compiled by Web India.
