Unusual incident claims Raigarh SP's minor son

In a tragic incident that sent shock waves into police officers community in the State on Saturday, the minor son of Raigarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul Bhagat died in an unusual incident at Kharasia railway station in Raigarh district.

The boy slipped and fell on the tracks in his attempt to get onboard a moving train. Reportedly, SP Bhagat was returning to Raigarh from Raipur with his family by South Bihar (Durg-Danapur Express) train on Saturday. His son Rashu Bhagat (10) got down from train at Kharsia Railway Station to buy something. However, before he could return, the train began to move. SP Bhagat immediately telephoned the Kharsia Thana Incharge and sought his help to search his son. But, even before Kharsia SHO could start his search, a body in a pool of blood was found near the rail track as soon as the train left the Kharasia station. later the body was identified as son of Rahul Bhagat.

Chief Minister Raman Singh and several Congress leaders and police officers condoled the tragic death.
