The lifespan of a dutiful wife, a well wisher and a soulmate was depicted through a dance drama ‘Ratnavali’. The Ballet or the dance drama is a story about the wife of Tulsidas named Ratnavali. The dance drama was staged before the theatre-goers of the city on Monday at Shaheed Bhawan Auditorium.
The dance drama was splendidly performed by the artists of Ardhikal Samiti. Choreographed by a noted ballet choreographer and a theatre personality Vaishali Gupta, the dance drama Ratnavali was written by Director of Nirala Srijanpeeth, Diwakar Verma.
This dance drama portrayed the life style of Tulsidas’ wife Ratnavali and how she inspired Tulsidas to get more devoted to lord Rama. It focused from the childhood of Ratnavali till she died in front of Tulsidas. As Ratnavali since childhood was a strong personality she knew how to deal with the life situations properly.
The drama began with showing a little girl in a small village, studying. The girl was Ratnavali, and as per her greatest quality she had a keen interest in gaining knowledge. So notably, at a very early age she learned all the Shastra Gyan. As her guru asked her parents that she inherits special qualities in her personality so, she should receive the best in her life.
As she grew-up she was married to sant Tulsidas and from then she devoted her life to her husband and household works. A sad incident, where she lost her child was staged miraculously. That particular scene filled the eyes of the audience with tears and hearts with emotion. A touching performance was given by the artists on stage leaving the audience mesmerized.
An event, where Ratnavali inspires Tulsidas to be more devoted to his lord was also presented amazingly. A wonderful conversation between Ratnavali and Tulsidas added an essence to the dance drama. It basically depicted the difficult events that changed the life of Tulsidas totally.
It was an enthralling performance and the artists on the stage maintained to keep the interest of the audience at each scene. As many as 36 artists performed on stage and the sensible use of lighting also enhanced the moods of the scenes.
