People continued to experience a harrowing time to get their Aadhar card prepared in Nainital. Six month after the authorities started providing Aadhar card, serpentine queues outside the offices of Aadhar card agencies can be seen.

With the Government making Aadhar card compulsory for official works and to avail different schemes from next year, patience of beneficiaries is wearing thin as they are spending a long time to get the card prepared. Since the Government has decided to make online payments of different popular schemes including lPG subsidy from next year, it has become mandatory for the beneficiaries to have Aadhar card.

Citizens seem to be in a hurry in getting their Aadhar card prepared as early as possible. According to Nainital district administration; there are only nine agencies which are preparing the cards in Nainital. The lackadaisical approach on part of the district administration, Nainital, in this case has only made it tougher for the citizens to get their Aadhar card prepared without any difficulty.

In the meanwhile, Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate, Nainital, has directed the officials concerned of the district administration and Aadhar card agencies to work in coordination so that all the citizens could get their Aadhar card prepared. He has also asked the officials concerned of the Aadhar card agencies to open more counters in the district. It is to note that as per the Government’s rule all children above one year of age are also eligible to get their Aadhar cards.
