Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power cmpany is committed to the inclusive development of children and women living in and around its area of operations. In line with this philosophy, Maithon Power limited, a 74:26 joint venture between Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), in association with Whiz Mantra conducted the ‘PadhoBadho’ program under its ‘Vidya’ initiative.

The ‘PadhoBadho’ programme was organised over a period of seven months in three special education centres of Palarpur, Madandih, Dombhui village of Dhanbad.

The objective of this initiative was to improve the quality of education in the age group of 5-14 years students by encouraging them to adopt innovative learning methods. The students who enrolled in the programme underwent a five level learning Enhancement Program (lEAP) that included 48 classes in which the children were provided innovative learning support through books, audio visuals, special grooming and motivation sessions for self-improvement.

Speaking at this initiative, Bhaskar Sarkar, CEO - Maithon Power ltd. stated, “We at Tata Power have always endeavoured towards comprehensive development of the community and have implemented various programmes for inclusive growth. We would like to thank the community leaders, the villagers and the children for their enthusiasm and support for making the program a huge success. We are extremely delighted with the response and will continue to organise such programmes in future for the welfare of the community.”
