The pass percentage of this year's matriculation resulted declared by Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Tuesday improved by 2.15 percent with boys outshining the girls.
The pass percentage was recorded at 75.30 percent compared to 73.15 percent last year. In 2012, the matriculation pass percentage had dipped to 67.35, while in 2011 it was marginally better at 69.31 per cent.Among the 24 districts, Giridih has recorded the maximum pass percentage with 85.844 percent followed by Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Palamau and Bokaro. HRD Minister Geetashree Oraon’s home district Gumla has registered 72.206 percent.
South Chotanagpur has recorded the maximum pass percent among the five divisions with 76.53 percent. As many as 77.66 percent boys and 72.83 girls out of 4,78,079, who took the examination, have come out with flying colours.Though the JAC has not announced the toppers' list, sources said that Netarhat school's students have bagged all the 10 top positions. Chandan Kumar and Abhishek Ranjan have bagged the first and second rank with 96.8 and 96.6 percentages. Avinav Anand has also got the second position.
While releasing this result along with state human resources development (HRD) minister Geetashree Oraon, JAC chairman Anand Bhushan said that the general category students have secured the maximum score this time with 79.50 percent. Oraon said, "We need to improve so have decided to keep a check on all the subjects from next session by organizing tutorial classes for the students. This will atleast improve the result of mathematics and science subjects."
