One of the hit Hindi plays of the city ‘lala Hardaul’ would be staged here on Wednesday at Antrang Hall, Bharat Bhawan.
The play would be performed by Hum Theatre Group that has through various performances left a great impact over the audiences. Directed by Balendra Singh, this would be the 46th show presented by Hum Theatre group. Singh while talking to The Pioneer, said, “We have staged this play across the country and have received overwhelming response by the audiences.”
He further said, “Everywhere, it was a different experience and we actually explored the diverse perceptions and ideas for theatres.” It is the signature production of the group, he further added.
Set in the Bundelkhandi background, the play showcases the life span of lala Hardol, a freedom fighter. The play further portrayed the different phases of his life and fight for the right. Various incidents from his life span have been scripted together as a play and would be presented before the Bhopalites on Wednesday. The backdrop and costumes were designed according to give the feel of Bundelkhandi region. The story of lala Hardaul is a very famous folktale, and Hardaul is a very honourable figure in a lot of states in India. Besides being brave, Hardaul also worked towards unification of Bundelkhand, throwing away discrimination and pushing for independence. After his death it is believed he served food at his sister’s wedding to help them meet the needs.
“lala Hardaul is still alive in the memories of Bundelkhandis and there are many devotees of lala Hardaul. They have different beliefs about him and respect him greatly,” Singh further added.
