A theatre play and a musical event will be organised by Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi (CSNA) at Tagore Theatre during this week.
The CSNA in association with Wings Theatre Academy, St Kabir School will stage famous theatre play ‘Death of a Salesman’ for about two and a half hour on September 21 at Tagore Theatre.
The play is written by American playwright Arthur Miller and will be directed by Zubin Mehta. The play tackles universal human questions about the nature of happiness and success, of aging and of family responsibility.
The play ‘Death of a Salesman’ takes place in New York and Boston. The action begins in the home of Willy loman, an aging salesman who has just returned from a road trip. Willy is having difficulty remembering events, as well as distinguishing the present from his memories of the past.
The musical event “Ajab Ishaq…Maati Di”, a spiritual and philosophical journey with renowned singer Harpeet will be organised on September 19 at Tagore Theatre.
From simple, contemporary Hindi lyrics to eminent Hindi literature to Punjabi Heer, mystical poetry by Sufi saints, Harpreet will present his collection of songs in form of his debut album, "Ajab Ishq…Maati Da.”
