42 dams of Chhattisgarh filled up with 76% water

With incessant rainfalls over the last few days, all the major irrigation dams of Chhattisgarh have been filled up with about 76 per cent of water. The State has 42 main irrigation dams and these dams have a water storage capacity of around 6,266.839 million cubic metres. As on July 27, 4,810.368 million cubic metres of water has been filled in these dams.

According to officials of State-level Data Centre of Water Resources department here, against the total water storage capacity of dams, 81.84 per cent of Minimata Bango dam, 79.19 per cent of Gangrel dam, 86.53 percent of Tandula dam, 81.26 per cent of Kharang and 88.86 per cent of Maniyari dam have been filled up.

This apart, 46.15 per cent of Dudhava, 74.51 per cent of Sikasar, 81.26 per cent of Kharang, 63.98 per cent of Sondur, 64.85 per cent of Muroom Silli, 69.23 percent of Kodar, 100 percent of Kharkhara, 84 percent of Gondali, 64.93 per cent of Kosar Teda, 98.95 per cent of Paralkot, 27.07 per cent of Shyam, 99.76 percent of Kshirpani, 100 percent of Pipariya Nallah, 56.46 percent of Ballar, 100 percent of Sutiyapat, 30.89 percent of Mongara Barrage and 53.63 percent of Maroda dam has been filled up.

Similarly, 100 percent water has been stored in Saroda dam, 61.18 percent in Ghongara, 89.43 percent in Matiya Moti, 59.05 percent in Jhumka, 59.60 percent in Gaj, 8.10 percent in Khamar Pakut, 55.73 percent in Keshava, 86.35 percent in Karranallah barrage, 11.83 percent in Banki, 87.28 percent in Kedar Nallah, 100 percent in Kinkari Nallah, 10.06 percent in Kunvarpur, 92.34 percent in Beharkhar, 72.52 percent in Khapri, 44.25 percent in Kumhari, 38.48 percent in Barnai, 72.33 percent in Pendravan, 100 percent in Ruse, 30.39 percent in Putka Nallah, 50.82 percent in Mayana and 53.15 percent in Dhara dam.
