The Chief Ministers designate of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are busy in chalking out their strategies to tackle the challenges before the new Governments.

K Chandrashekar Rao, who will be taking oath as the first Chief Minister of Telangana at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad at 12:57 pm on June 2, has already announced that his first signature will be on the file pertaining to waiving the loans of farmers. He has asked the officials to keep the file ready to be signed soon after Governor ESl Narasimhan administers the oath. The draft of the file was prepared by the retired IAS officers who were now part of TRS.

The implementation of this crucial electoral promise was estimated to cost Rs 15,000 crore to the Telangana exchequer as it will benefit 22 lakh farmers to the tune of Rs 100,000 per farmer.

KCR met the Governor, Narasimhan, for the third time since he won the State Assembly elections on May 16. The meeting assumed significance in view of the ongoing tussle between the Telangana and Seemandhra employees over the nativity issue. KCR has made it clear that Telangana will not accept the employees of Seemandhra origin.

Earlier, the State Chief Secretary, PK Mohanty, and other officials met KCR and made a presentation on the division process, which has entered the final critical phase. As the ‘zero week’ was set to start for both the States, when the administration will stop working as part of transition, the salaries of the employees were being paid in advance.

Officials have started sprucing up a bungalow in the Ministers Quarters in Kundanbagh converting it in to official residence of Telangana chief ministers. A senior IPS and a senior IAS officer staying in the place have moved to another place.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister designate of residuary Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, was preparing to leave for New Delhi on Saturday, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. Earlier, he was also likely to meet Modi to discuss the issue, TDP’s representation in the Modi Cabinet.

Earlier, in the day, Naidu held a meeting with the Chief Secretary PK Mohanty and other officials to review the financial position of the State after division.Naidu asked the officials to minutely assess the benefits Andhra Pradesh can get from the special category status given by the Central Government as part of the special package.

He asked the officials to prepare a report on how he can bring more funds from the Central Government.“We have made a lot of promises to the people and we will have to fulfill them. The officials should also work sincerely for the same purpose,” he said urging the officials to ensure that there was no shortage of funds.

“If you prepare a report, bringing funds is my responsibility,” Naidu said.

Chandrababu was likely to take oath as the Chief Minster after June 8 at an auspicious time fixed by the priests. According to the sources, Pundits told Naidu that there was no auspicious date before June 8.Similarly, the venue of swearing-in ceremony will be somewhere between Vijayawada and Guntur, where Naidu was keen to build the new capital.
