Son of Vivek Vihar councillor dies in fatal dumper crash

A 29-year-old son of local councillor died in a fatal accident East Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area. The incident occurred around 3 am on Monday when a dumper fell on his Swift Dzire car. Victim’s mother Preeti is a councillor from Vivek Vihar.

Police said that the victim Varish Singh was waiting for his friend Pawan Aggarwal at about 3 pm when a dumper fell on his Swift Dzire car. “A PCR call was received around 3 am from Pawan Aggarwal about the incident. When Pawan saw that the car has been completely crashed under the dumper he went to a nearby Metro construction site from where he asked a crane operator to help. As crane was lifting the car the chain snapped and the dumper again fell on the car,” a senior police officer said.

After receiving the PCR call, police reached at the spot and gas cutters were used to take Varish’s body out of the car. A case has been registered at the Vivek Vihar police station and the driver of the dumper is on the run.

Varish is survived by his wife Neetu and son Junesh. His uncle Jitender Singh Shanti is MlA from Shahdara constituency.
