Noida's Phool Mandi turns into fortress on counting day

District Administration of Gautam Buddh Nagar has decided to turn Phool Mandi of Noida’s Phase-II area into fortress where all the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are kept for counting. local police along with Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF) are guarding the venue under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. District Magistrate (DM) of Gautam Buddh Nagar, AV Rajamouli, has ordered senior police officials to keep close vigil in the area to ensure proper counting of votes.

Police will also be keeping political parties at bay from the venue. They will be allowed to stand outside the venue. Only candidate and their agents will be allowed inside the counting hall which will be barricaded and under high security. “Noida Police is taking special care that no political party can carry out procession in the city. For safety measure cops will deploy dog squad, bomb squad and anti-sabotage cell. Police force will also be deployed across city so that no political party can block roads, carry out processions or trigger a brawl during counting,” said Preetinder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Noida.
