10 SDMs transferred in reshuffle

nIn an administrative reshuffle, 10 sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) have been transferred in the national Capital on Tuesday. A 2012 batch IAS officer Nitika Pawar is posted as SDM of Narela; Himanshu Gupta (2012 batch officer) as SDM of Najafgarh; Harleen Kaur is posted as SDM Kapashera; Dr Sonal Swaroop is posted as SDM Vasant Vihar; Satyendra Singh Dursawat as SDM Punjabi Bagh. It is noted that earlier SDMs posts were being held by DANICS cadre officers. SDM Vasant Vihar Saumyaketu Mishra is transferred as Deputy Controller of Examination; Ajay Narain Gaur who was holding the charge of Najafgarh SDM, transferred as SDM Vivek Vihar; Daniel Masih who was holding the charge of SDM Punjabi Bagh is transferred to SDM Yamuna Vihar.

70 bighas of Gram Sabha land reclaimed

nDelhi Government has retrieved approximately 70 bighas of Gram Sabha land having an estimated market value of approx Rs 30 crore after carrying out a series of demolition drives in villages of Maidangarhi, Ayanagar, Jonapur and Chhatarpur. The drive was conducted by the block development office (South) on the directions of District Magistrate, South. District Magistrate (South) Niharika Rai also advised public not to invest their hard earned savings in purchasing such Government lands and to be wary of unscrupulous property dealers.

‘Vulnerable’ kids to have Aadhaar

nDelhi Government has undertaken an intensive drive to create awareness for enrolment of children housed in Government and NGO run institutions for issuing unique identification (UID) cards prior to their release. The Department of Women and Child Development has directed all the superintendents and officer-in-charge of the institutions to coordinate with regional office of Delhi Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and ensure that all the children lodged in the institution are provided Aadhaar (UID) cards.

Protect ozone, it’s the best sunscreen

nDelhi Government’s Environment Department celebrated the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone layer on Tuesday. The International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone layer is being celebrated on September 16 each year since 1995. This date has been designated by the United National General Assembly in its resolution 49/114, to commemorate the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone layer. This commemoration around the world offers an opportunity to focus attention and action at the global, regional and national levels on the protection of the ozone layer.
