Gargi College reopens admission for Commerce

With Delhi University announcing the sixth cut-off list for admission on Saturday, several seats remain available in few courses across all colleges. While the cut-off plunged by few points, leaving the vacancies open in various colleges for the OBC and other reserved categories, some colleges reopened admissions for general category in various disciplines.

Gargi College reopened the admission for Commerce with a cut-off of 93.5 per cent. Ramjas and Hansraj too opened the gates for Commerce discipline. In the fifth cut-off list, Gargi College had reopened admissions for History, but now the college has capped it again.

One of the other colleges who capped the admissions in courses that were open in the fifth list is Indraprastha College, which closed admissions to English course.

On the other hand Kamla Nehru College kept the admissions open for the same.  The SGTB Khalsa College too has closed admissions in its Commerce Honours while the admission for Economics and English remain open.

Seats in some courses have already been over-filled across the courses. Colleges have capped majority of other courses for the general category, while as the admissions for the reserved categories still remains open in some colleges.

At Miranda House College and Hindu College, the reserved categories seats are still open and Hindu College has enough vacancy. Hence, they may come out with another list.

While Principal of Miranda House Pratibha Jolly said the seats for reserved category are likely to fill up after this list, Principal of Hindu College Dr Pradumn Kumar said that there are enough seats under the reserved categories.

“We have majority of seats available for OBC and SC/S categories and the options for admissions to these students will be there after this list also,” Kumar said.
