Tribal leader Sanatan Sardar passes away after prolonged illness

Tribal leader, Sanatan Sardar, lost his battle to his prolonged ailment and obscurity and breathed his last at his village Roladih, under Potka block of East Singhbhum district on Thursday.

The 79 -year-old former undivided Bihar minor Irrigation Minister was penniless and suffering from heart disease. He was a teacher by profession and served at Potka High School as headmaster before venturing into active politics. The Minor Irrigation Minister from 1985-87 in undivided Bihar, he thrice represented Potka as Janata Dal (1977-82), BJP (1982-85) and Congress (1985-90) MlA. Sardar left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and four grandchildren.

Political fraternity of the city has expressed deep sorrow over his demise. When contacted senior Congress leader SRA Rizwi Chabban said, his death is a huge loss to people of the State. He was an honest and sincere leader and played an important role in the progress of Potka. His last journey was taken out from his residence in Potka in which several party leaders and well wishers participated.
