State NIC bags four Skoch awards

Monday, 09 September 2013 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

For the first time, Odisha has bagged four awards on SKOCH Digital Inclusion 2013 for smart Governance with the National Informatics Centre as its knowledge partner.

The awards were received by SK Panda, DDG & SIO and Dr RN Behera, Senior Technical Director of NIC, Odisha State Centre, at the award ceremony recently held in New Delhi.

The SKOCH Digital Inclusion awards are given every year recognising those Government departments which have used Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools to provide and improve Government services, transactions and interactions with citizens and public service delivery.

The awards were received in four different areas for four projects that include e-Nijukti, e-Abhijoga. E-Nijukti by the Odisha State Employment Mission online captures unemployed youths, imparts skill development training and provide jobs (http://www.empmissionodisha.gov.in).

lower qualified youths are captured online through this system, imparted skill development training and suitably absorbed by job providers under this project.

E-Abhijoga is the State’s grievance redressal monitoring system, Odisha (http://cmgcodisha.gov.in). Its objective is to provide an online grievance redressal and monitoring mechanism across the State which includes the Chief Minister’s Office and the offices of all Secretaries and district Collectors ‘Standardisation of District Portal with web CMS’(http://oddistricts.nic.in). While various districts are having their own websites, those were not built on uniform structures.

This had led to confusion and the real citizen-centric approach behind the purpose seems to be defeated. So, considering the situation, a standardisation of the district portal initiative was undertaken by the NIC in collaboration with the IT Department which is based on the content architecture of the National Portal of India (india.gov.in) under NeGP.

land Acquisition System is regarding  computerisation of land Records System of Odisha(http://bhulekh.ori.nic.in/empr ). This is helping the peole at large in the State.
